I was first drawn to being a counselor by working with teens and university students. Over time, I've realized I am just as interested in working with those same individuals once they've finished their education and are in a new phase of life.
The professional clients I work best with are young adult to middle-aged individuals who are open to reflecting on the reasons for their difficulties, including their role in perpetuating them and their responsibility in making changes to their lives. Clients who get the most out of working with me are ready for change and want to positively impact their lives and relationships.
My professional clients work in a variety of settings, such as academia, health care, law, consulting, tech, finance, engineering, pharmaceuticals, sales, among others. They are facing one or more challenges that are my focus.
Individuals in this phase of life are also often navigating life changes and shifting roles, such as:
transitioning from school to work
moving up the career ladder or navigating self-employment
seeking/committing to/improving/ending an intimate relationship or marriage
making decisions about starting a family or weathering fertility challenges
raising children and launching them into independence (college, moving out of the home)
managing changes and stress in a marriage or partnership
struggling with increased loneliness due to having fewer or less accessible friends than in the past or being in middle management
having aging or ill parents
facing career challenges (difficult co-workers, emotionally unsafe/toxic work environment, loneliness of middle management)
realizing you're not 20 (or 30, or 40!) anymore
seeing the impacts of past events in a new light
If the above sounds like a good fit for you, feel free to email or call me today!
Given that I work best with people who are ready to change, I may provide referrals to individuals who are still figuring out if they are ready to change. Referrals in this case are about my ability to meet my client's needs, as opposed to any shortcoming in my clients.
