I offer a variety of services, including:
Individual therapy focused on managing stuckness, worry, relationship difficulties, transitions, confusingly strong emotions, and other challenges
Couples therapy for people working to strengthen relationships and improve communication
DBT skills coaching for individuals who can benefit from having a broader repertoire of coping skills
I specialize in treating professionals (including, academics, health care providers, consultants, people in STEM), undergraduate/graduate students, recent graduates transitioning to the working world, and couples.
If you don't fall into one of these groups, please reach out if you like what you've learned about my approach! I've supported a broad range of people through their challenges and may be able to help you, as well.
The fee for each individual therapy session is $190 and for couples therapy, $210. DBT skills coaching sessions are $160. The fee for the one-time initial consultation is $220. Fees are due at the time of service.
I am an out-of-network provider for most non-HMO commercial insurance plans. Checking your explanation of benefits for behavioral/mental health services on your insurance company’s website can help you determine your out-of-network coverage, as well as any deductibles, coinsurance, or copays that apply. I always recommend calling your insurance company to verify information reviewed online or in print and to confirm how to submit reimbursement claims. The one exception is for students or others covered by the Washington University School of Medicine plan. In this case, WUSM covers the entire cost of the first appointment and you are responsible for the $10 fee in each additional appointment.
Some individuals who have insurance choose not to use it to promote their own privacy, as using insurance at the minimum requires reporting of a diagnosis to your insurer. Insurers can also request to review your progress, either verbally or by requesting your progress notes, which can be unwanted.
If you do have out-of-network coverage and wish to use these benefits, please let me know and I will generate a form for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement that will include your diagnoses. You will need to pay the full session fee at the time of service and may receive reimbursement from your insurer, depending on your benefits and how your insurer processes the claim.
I ask my clients to invest their time and energy into therapy. In terms of time, I ask clients to meet at least weekly for the first three appointments so that we can hit the ground running. After that, about 10% of my clients meet with me twice a week and the remainder split between weekly and every other week.
In terms of energy, the more you push yourself to take risks in appointments and in between our meetings, the more you will see progress in yourself!
I make regular appointments so that we both know that a certain day and time is reserved for you. I also limit my total number of clients because of the amount of thought and effort I give to each person I meet with, as well as to give myself adequate time for self-care so that I show up ready to work with you.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (314) 844-0779.
